FJORDNE

FJORDNE is the solo project of Tokyo-based artist Fujimoto Shunichiro, whose work revolves around two central ideas: sound texture and twisted time. With a diverse arsenal of acoustic instruments and a laptop at his disposal, he manipulates and transforms sound, stretching it across a new temporal plane.

In 2008, FJORDNE quickly made his mark, releasing three albums in a single year: UNMOVING (u-cover, Belgium), The Last 3 Days of Time (Dynamophone Records, USA), and Stories Apart from the World (Ryoondo Tea, Japan). Each offering explored different facets of his expansive sound universe.

Following this, FJORDNE’s fourth album, The Setting Sun (KITCHEN. LABEL), was unveiled in 2009, deepening his reputation as a boundary-pushing ambient artist.

FJORDNE’s 5th album, Charles Rendition (KITCHEN. LABEL, 2011), marked a new chapter, blending ambient textures with an innovative jazz influence, showcasing his ability to seamlessly merge genres and expand the scope of his sound.
