Meitei x BEPPU ONSEN WEEK

This December, Meitei steps into a role as the architect of an immersive art experience for BEPPU ONSEN WEEK, celebrating Beppu City’s centennial.

Meitei now redefines his artistry, directing Sen’nyū — a project that merges sound, storytelling, and place. Across a five-day residency, he dove deep into Beppu’s hot springs, connecting with its people and capturing the soul of its “Lost Japan” essence. These moments become Sen’nyū, a singular musical piece that echoes Beppu’s spirit.

December 7–8
Experience Sen’nyū while soaking in the historic ambiance of Takegawara Onsen, or at select onsen throughout Beppu.

December 8, 2nd Floor of Takegawara Onsen
A live performance of Sen’nyū, accompanied by Meitei’s reflections, residency photos, and videos. Attendees will receive a special towel — an emblem of this once-in-a-century collaboration.
