KITCHEN. LABEL, the independent record label hailing from Singapore, is proud to present its second and final 15th-anniversary showcase set amidst the ambiance of the iconic Jiyugakuen Myonichikan in Tokyo, Japan, on June 7, 2024, as we commemorate 15 years of evocative imagery through the language of music and sound.
Taking center stage for this special occasion is the revered cornerstone of our label, haruka nakamura, a luminary in the realm of Japanese contemporary music. Returning to the stage of the label, haruka nakamura will grace the piano, accompanied by the ethereal duo ASPIDISTRAFLY, featuring April Lee on vocals and guitars and Ricks Ang on electronics. Together, they will weave a performance presenting beloved tracks from haruka nakamura’s illustrious discography as well as cherished collaborative pieces including ‘twilight’ and ‘Landscape with a Fairy,’ among other fan-favorites and brand new tracks.
Adding to the allure of the evening, we are excited to introduce the newest addition to the KITCHEN. LABEL family: German multi-instrumentalist Tobias Wilden as he unveils the live premiere of his latest album, ‘A Path to Open Air II.’
Entitled ‘Dreaming Dawn,’ this event pays homage to haruka nakamura’s seminal album ‘twilight,’ serving as a symbolic bridge between past and present. ‘DREAMING DAWN’ encapsulates the essence of our journey, from twilight to the dawn of a new era. Come full circle with us, honouring our past, embracing the present, and welcoming the future’s first light.
