Meitei sat down with ele-king for an in-depth discussion about the making of his latest record ‘Kofū’ and more.

“There is something I learned from making Kofū. It’s not about referring to common contextual examples or what I’ve heard. It was to produce a work for contemporary society (especially Japan) from the perspective that cannot be discussed in a modern context through the experiences I experienced. In other words, it is important to demonstrate a pure sensibility as yourself, with an axis of your own, rather than reacting to social events and the words and actions of others to create your work.” – Meitei
